Plateau of Valensole The Valensole plateau is a natural region of France located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence , south-west of Digne-les-Bains , between the valleys of the Durance to the west, the Asse to the north, Gorges du Verdon and Lake Sainte-Croix to the south. Its average altitude is 500 m and it extends over 800 km 2 . It is crossed by the Asse valley , which separates it into two asymmetrical parts.
